Description

This Best Ever Baked Salmon recipe features tender, flaky salmon fillets glazed with a savory honey-soy marinade, baked to perfection for a delicious and easy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets, 6 ounces each, skin on

Glaze

  • 1 ½ tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Prepare salmon: Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature while you prepare the other ingredients to ensure even cooking.
  2. Preheat oven: Set the oven to 400° F and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or foil for easy clean up.
  3. Make glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic until well combined.
  4. Apply glaze and position salmon: Place the salmon fillets skin side down into the prepared baking dish. Reserve half of the glaze in a clean dish, then brush or spoon the remaining half over the salmon fillets evenly.
  5. Bake initial time: Bake the salmon for 12 minutes in the preheated oven to begin cooking and allow the glaze to set.
  6. Glaze and finish baking: After 12 minutes, brush the reserved glaze over the salmon and continue baking for an additional 8 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches your preferred doneness. Thicker fillets may require more time.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven and serve immediately. The salmon is best when rested for a few minutes after baking. For safe consumption, aim for an internal temperature of 145° F, or cook to 125-130° F and let rest for 3 minutes.

Notes

  • You can substitute the glaze with a dry rub using your favorite Salmon Seasoning applied before baking.
  • If you prefer a less sweet glaze, reduce the amount of honey slightly or substitute with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
  • Thicker salmon fillets may require additional baking time to ensure they are fully cooked.
  • To avoid overcooking, monitor the salmon closely during the last few minutes of baking.
