- 1/3 cup buffalo sauce, plus more to drizzle on top
- 1 tablespoon blue cheese dressing
Pizza Base and Toppings
- 1 lb. pizza dough, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon blue cheese dressing
- ¼ cup red onions, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup banana pepper rings, patted dry
Garlic Butter Parmesan Crust
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese, grated
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
To Garnish
- Chives or green onions
- Red pepper flakes
- Parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating for a crisper, browner crust.
- Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, and 1 tablespoon of blue cheese dressing. Allow the chicken to marinate while preparing the pizza.
- Shape Dough: Lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan or prepare your pizza stone. Spread the pizza dough evenly onto the surface and poke holes with a fork to prevent bubbling.
- Add Base and Cheese: Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with most of the mozzarella cheese.
- Top Pizza: Distribute the buffalo chicken mixture over the cheese, then add the sliced red onions and banana pepper rings. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.
- Add Drizzle: Drizzle 3 tablespoons of blue cheese dressing and 1 to 2 tablespoons of buffalo sauce over the pizza toppings.
- First Bake: Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 13 minutes. Remove from oven when done.
- Prepare Garlic Butter Crust: Mix melted butter, grated Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder together. Brush this mixture over the pizza crust.
- Final Bake: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 3 minutes or until the crust is golden and crispy.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped chives or green onions, red pepper flakes, and parsley over the finished pizza. Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- For blue cheese dressing, Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese is recommended, found in the refrigerated produce section. Ranch dressing can be substituted if preferred.
- Use Franks Buffalo Sauce for authentic flavor; adjust amount to taste.
- Low moisture whole milk mozzarella shredded from a block melts best; avoid fresh mozzarella as it is too wet for this recipe.
- Store-bought refrigerated pizza dough can be used for a quick preparation or opt for homemade dough for enhanced flavor.
- Keep pizza stone in oven during preheat for best crust results.
- To store leftovers, refrigerate in an airtight container and reheat in an oven or air fryer to retain crispiness.
- Try pairing this pizza with a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
