Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 medium flour tortillas
- 1/3 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 1/3 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 tsp. Italian seasoning
- Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the Skillet: Preheat your broiler to high. Place a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil to warm up.
- Assemble First Layer: Lay one tortilla flat in the skillet. Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly over the tortilla, then scatter minced garlic on top. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, pepperoni slices, and Italian seasoning over the sauce.
- Add the Top Tortilla: Place the second tortilla on top of the loaded first tortilla. Cook on medium heat until the cheese starts melting and the bottom tortilla becomes golden brown.
- Flip Using Plate: To flip, cover the skillet with a large plate, carefully invert to release the pizzadilla onto the plate, then slide it back into the skillet with the cooked side up.
- Add Remaining Toppings: Spread the remaining pizza sauce over the top tortilla, then sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning evenly.
- Bake under Broiler: Place the skillet under the broiler and cook for about 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the pepperoni edges crisp up.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top, slice, and serve warm for a delightful meal.
Notes
- Use an oven-safe skillet to easily transfer from stovetop to broiler.
- Be cautious when flipping the pizzadilla, using a large plate to avoid spills.
- Customize by adding vegetables like bell peppers or olives for extra flavor.
- For a spicier kick, sprinkle red pepper flakes along with Italian seasoning.
- If you prefer a crispier crust, cook the bottom tortilla a minute longer before adding the top tortilla.
