Description
Oreo Snowman Cookies are a festive and fun holiday treat made by coating Golden Oreos in white chocolate and decorating them with candy to resemble adorable snowmen. These sweet and creative cookies are perfect for holiday parties or as a delightful gift.
Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Coating
- 2 (10 oz.) bags Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers or white candy melts
Cookies
- 24 Double Stuf Golden Oreos
Decorations
- 168 black sugar pearl sprinkles
- 24 orange tic tacs
- 2 ounces pack sour punch straws, cut in 2-inch pieces
- 48 M&Ms (use the same color for both sides)
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Sheets: Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside for the cookies to dry on.
- Melt Chocolate: Add the white chocolate wafers to a microwave-safe bowl and heat at 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and fully melted.
- Coat Oreos: One at a time, dip each Golden Oreo into the melted white chocolate ensuring an even coat. Lift with a fork, gently tap on the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate, then transfer to the lined baking sheet. Work in small batches for best results.
- Add Snowman Face: Place two black sugar pearl sprinkles as eyes. Position an orange tic tac in the center for the nose. Under the nose, arrange five black sugar pearls in a smile shape to form the mouth.
- Create Earmuffs: Attach a 2-inch piece of sour punch straw horizontally as the earmuff strap. Hold it in place for about 10 seconds so the chocolate firms slightly. Then attach one M&M on each side of the strap to represent the earmuffs, using matching colors on both sides.
- Repeat: Repeat the coating and decorating steps for all remaining Oreos.
- Chill: Place the decorated Oreos in the refrigerator for 10 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set and firm.
Notes
- Store the Oreo Snowman Cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking and protect decorations.
- To make a smaller batch, melt only the amount of chocolate needed to minimize waste and save the rest for later use.
- If sugar pearls are unavailable for the mouth, use black confetti sprinkles or mini chocolate chips as alternatives.
- Orange sprinkles can substitute for the orange tic tac nose; specialty snowman cookie decoration packs with carrot-shaped sprinkles are also great options.
- Get creative with earmuffs by replacing M&Ms with Skittles, peppermint candies, or Spree candies; the strap can be swapped out for Twizzlers pull-n-peel.
- Instead of candies, use cookie icing in black and orange to draw facial features if preferred.
- Try different Oreo flavors such as Mega Stuf, mint, peanut butter, or peppermint for a creative twist on this recipe.
- For a festive presentation, place snowmen on lollipop sticks, wrap in cellophane, and tie with ribbons for gifting or decoration.
