Description

This creamy chicken with lemon garlic cream sauce is a delightful main course featuring tender pan-seared chicken breasts in a rich, tangy, and slightly sweet sauce made from chicken broth, lemon juice, honey, and garlic. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, it's easy to prepare and packed with bright flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce

  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • Red pepper flakes to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Wrap the chicken breasts in plastic wrap and pound them to an even 1/2 inch thickness to ensure they cook evenly.
  2. Season Chicken: Pat the chicken dry using paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper according to your taste.
  3. Heat Pan: Over medium-high heat, melt the butter and add the olive oil in a skillet to prepare for searing.
  4. Sear Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook without moving until browned on one side, approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Cook Through: Reduce the heat to medium, flip the chicken breasts to the other side, cover the pan, and cook for 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and juices run clear. Then remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Make Sauce: Combine chicken broth, lemon juice, honey, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes in the skillet, stirring well and scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  7. Simmer Sauce: Let the sauce simmer until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  8. Add Cream: Stir in the heavy cream and mix thoroughly to make the sauce rich and creamy.
  9. Combine & Serve: Return the chicken to the skillet, coat with the sauce by stirring gently, then serve hot with optional lemon wedges and parsley for garnish. Enjoy your meal!

Notes

  • For an extra zest, add fresh lemon zest to the sauce.
  • Use low-sodium chicken broth to control salt content.
  • Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it tender and juicy.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
  • Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley for color and freshness.
