Description

Celebrate the festive season with this fun and delicious Christmas Monkey Bread made from tender biscuit dough, cinnamon sugar, Hershey Kisses, and a gooey buttery brown sugar sauce. Perfect for sharing at holiday breakfasts or brunches, this pull-apart bread is bursting with sweet surprises and colorful sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Filling

  • 2 packages refrigerated biscuit dough, such as Pillsbury Grands
  • Christmas sprinkles, as needed
  • 12 Hershey Kisses, unwrapped (any flavor)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Sauce

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350℉. Thoroughly spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray and set it aside.
  2. Prepare Biscuit Dough: Cut each biscuit into quarters and flatten each piece slightly with your hands or a rolling pin.
  3. Add Sprinkles and Kisses: Place a few Christmas sprinkles and one Hershey Kiss on each flattened piece of biscuit dough, then carefully roll into a ball to enclose the filling.
  4. Coat Dough Balls: In a large resealable plastic bag, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Add a few biscuit dough balls at a time into the bag, seal it, and shake gently until the dough is fully coated with cinnamon sugar. Remove the coated balls from the bag.
  5. Arrange in Pan: Place the coated biscuit dough balls evenly into the prepared bundt pan to form a layered arrangement.
  6. Make Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar together, stirring occasionally until fully combined and smooth.
  7. Pour Sauce Over Dough: Carefully pour the warm butter and brown sugar sauce evenly over the biscuit balls in the bundt pan.
  8. Bake Monkey Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the top of the bread turns a deep golden brown and the biscuit dough is cooked through.
  9. Cool and Serve: Remove the bundt pan from the oven and allow the monkey bread to cool for 10 minutes. Then, place a large plate or serving platter on top of the pan and invert it to release the bread. Add a few extra sprinkles on top if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Using a pizza slicer to quarter the biscuits makes the cutting process quick and even.
  • To avoid the kisses leaking out during baking, press them firmly inside the dough balls.
  • You can use any flavor of Hershey Kisses to customize the taste.
  • Make sure to coat the dough balls thoroughly with cinnamon sugar for a perfect sweet crust.
  • Let the monkey bread cool slightly before turning out to prevent it from breaking apart.
