Description

Enjoy crispy, guilt-free Air Fryer Fried Pickles, a healthy and easy-to-make snack featuring dill pickle quarters coated in seasoned panko breadcrumbs and air fried to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Pickles

  • 6 pickles (cut into 12 quarters)

Breading

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning or regular steak seasoning

Other

  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare Flour: In a medium bowl, place the all-purpose flour ready for dredging the pickles.
  2. Whisk Eggs: In a second medium bowl, whisk the eggs together with the milk to create an egg wash.
  3. Season Breadcrumbs: In a third medium bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs and Montreal steak seasoning thoroughly.
  4. Coat Pickles: Dip each pickle quarter first into the flour, then the egg wash, and finally coat with the seasoned Panko breadcrumbs. Place coated pickles on a plate.
  5. Prepare Air Fryer: Spray the basket of the air fryer generously with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Arrange Pickles: Place the coated pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching. Spray the top of the pickles again with cooking spray.
  7. Cook Pickles: Air fry at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes until golden and crispy. Repeat in batches if necessary.
  8. Serve: Remove pickles and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Store air fryer fried pickles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  • Freezing is not recommended as the pickles will lose their crispiness.
  • To reheat, place the pickles in the air fryer for a few minutes until crispy and heated through.
  • Use dill pickle quarters from the refrigerated section for best flavor.
  • Arrange pickles in the air fryer basket without overlapping to ensure even cooking.
  • If Panko breadcrumbs are unavailable, regular breadcrumbs can be used but texture may differ.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on pickle size and thickness; adjust accordingly.
  • Spraying cooking spray on the air fryer basket and pickles prevents sticking and promotes crispiness.
