Description

This festive Christmas Sangria combines fresh apples, cranberries, citrus, and warming spices like cinnamon and rosemary with sweet red wine and unfiltered apple cider for a refreshing and aromatic holiday beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits and Garnishes

  • 1.5 cups apple sliced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 navel orange
  • 1 orange sliced
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Cinnamon sticks

Liquids and Sweeteners

  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups apple cider unfiltered
  • 1 cup unsweetened 100% cranberry juice
  • 1 bottle sweet red wine of choice (750 ml)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Wash and slice the apples and one orange. Peel the navel orange and section it if desired. Set aside.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher or punch bowl, add the sliced apples, sliced orange, navel orange pieces, and cranberries. Pour in the sweet red wine, cranberry juice, apple cider, lemon juice, and honey. Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients well.
  3. Add Garnishes: Place fresh rosemary sprigs and cinnamon sticks on top of the sangria mixture for garnish and aroma.
  4. Chill the Sangria: Cover the pitcher or punch bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Serve: Stir gently before serving and pour the sangria into glasses, making sure some fruit and garnishes are included in each glass. Enjoy your festive Christmas Sangria!

Notes

  • For best flavor, prepare sangria at least a few hours in advance or overnight.
  • You can substitute sparkling water or club soda for a fizzy version if desired.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey according to taste.
  • Use seasonal fruits if apples or cranberries are not available.
  • Make sure to chill all ingredients beforehand for a refreshing drink.
