Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark featuring a crunchy pretzel base layered with smooth milk chocolate and gooey caramel, perfect for a sweet and salty treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layer

  • 12 oz milk chocolate chips

Pretzel Layer

  • 8 oz pretzels (half of 16 oz bag)

Caramel Topping

  • 11 oz Kraft caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring well between each interval until smooth and completely melted.
  3. Spread Chocolate: Spread two-thirds of the melted chocolate evenly over the parchment paper on the baking sheet to form the base layer.
  4. Add Pretzels: Arrange the pretzels evenly on top of the melted chocolate and gently press them into the chocolate to help them adhere.
  5. Melt Caramel: In the microwave, melt the unwrapped caramels with heavy cream for 2 minutes, stirring until smooth and drizzle this caramel mixture evenly over the pretzels.
  6. Top with Chocolate Drizzle: Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the caramel and pretzel layer for a decorative finish.
  7. Chill to Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill until the bark is set and firm, approximately 30 minutes.

Notes

  • For easier melting, use high quality chocolate chips or chunks.
  • If preferred, use salted pretzels to enhance the salty-sweet flavor.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt on top before chilling for an extra salty kick.
  • Store the pretzel bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.
  • Break into pieces once fully set for serving or gifting.
