Description

These Tiramisu Truffles are a delightful no-bake treat combining the rich flavors of mascarpone, espresso, and ladyfinger biscuits, dusted with cacao powder for a perfect bite-sized dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 1/3 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 12 savoiardi biscuits (3.5 oz / 100 g)
  • 3 tablespoons brewed espresso coffee
  • 3 teaspoons sifted powdered sugar

For Coating

  • Cacao powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Brew Coffee: Brew 3 tablespoons of espresso coffee and allow it to cool completely before using.
  2. Crush Biscuits: Place the savoiardi biscuits in a blender or food processor and blitz until they reach a fine powder consistency.
  3. Prepare Cream Mixture: In a bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar. Add the cooled espresso coffee and mix gently until a smooth cream mixture forms.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the crushed ladyfinger biscuits to the cream mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until fully combined into a thick, cookie dough-like batter.
  5. Form Truffles: Using a teaspoon, scoop portions of the mixture and roll with your fingers into small balls. Place them on a plate. You should have about 10 truffles.
  6. Chill Truffles: Refrigerate the truffle balls for 1 hour to set and develop flavors. For a firmer texture, chill longer as preferred.
  7. Coat with Cacao: Place cacao powder in a small bowl. Drop each chilled truffle into the powder and roll to coat evenly.
  8. Serve: Arrange the coated truffles on a serving plate and enjoy your delicious Tiramisu Truffles.

Notes

  • Ensure the mascarpone cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • You can substitute brewed espresso with strong brewed coffee if needed.
  • For a firmer truffle center, refrigerate the truffles for up to 2 hours.
  • Use sifted powdered sugar to avoid lumps in the cream mixture.
  • Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
